Welcome to our website !

A HUGE thank you to Freshly Picked for partnering with me on this post!

It is hard to believe this time last year, I had this spunky little girl growing in my womb. We chose to wait until birth to find out her gender so I didn't really expect or plan for a girl. Needless to say, when we found out, I was SO surprised. I was truly convinced we were having another boy. I didn't realize  how fun it would be dressing a little girl. How do you not buy all the things?

If there's any one item I have been wanting to add to her wardrobe it was a pair of Freshly Picked Moccasins. At 10 months old Mila is a whopping 15 pounds with long, skinny feet so it has been pretty difficult to find shoes that fit her and stay on. These moccasins are PERFECT for her little feet.

The elastic helps keep these shoes on her feet and leaves her with plenty of room to grow into them. My husband isn't a huge fan of shoes on our kids when they are learning to walk. He believes bare foot is best for new walkers so the soft genuine leather soles gave us a compromise. ;)
The soft soles are still durable for walking so she gets the benefit of protection while learning to walk properly.

(side note: He's also a huge mega fan of Shark Tank so if a product has been on Shark Tank, he is sold.).

We received the Merci moccasins and I'm absolutely in love!
It adds the perfect touch of shimmer to her outfits but still the perfect neutral so they really go with anything.  I feel they are a truly classic and timeless look that go with a variety of looks.

They are perfect for dressing up a simple outfit like her chambray shirt & black leggings but can also go with her dressier outfits.

And apparently, they make the perfect "peek-a-boo" prop. Her new favorite game to play with us. ;)

I am so excited to be giving away a pair of moccasins to a lucky follower! All you need to do is head to my Instagram for more details on how to enter!

Spoiler- Its pretty simple: just like the giveaway photo on IG, follow me @breannejohnson, @freshlypicked & tag as many friends as you like!

We will see you over there!

Disclosure: I received this product in exchange for a review. All options are my own! I wouldn't share a product with you unless I didn't truly love it.

DAY 8 & 9

Today's Advent verse comes from Matthew 1:21:

"And she will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins.”

Yesterday's Advent verse was:

"So it was, when the angels had gone away from them into heaven, that the shepherds said to one another, “Let us now go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has come to pass, which the Lord has made known to us.” 16 And they came with haste and found Mary and Joseph, and the Babe lying in a manger."

See, there's grace. ;) I apologize for not sending out yesterday's email.

Workout:

Warm Up:
10 High Knees
10 Jumping Jacks
10 Push Ups
10 Squats

AMRAP in 10 Minutes:
(as many rounds as possible)
5 burpees
10 Squats
5 burpees
10 pushups
5 burps
10 lunges

Remember: 15 minutes of intentional movement (i.e. walking, running, strength training, dancing, stretching, etc.) counts as 1 mile. If you participate in an hour workout, you would mark off 4 miles. 15 minutes of spending time in the Word (reading, mediating, worshiping) counts as 1 mile. You would need to average about 3.75 "miles" a day to reach 90 by Christmas SO I'm going to add a little something extra... If you complete an act of service or donate to a charity during the Christmas season, you can mark of 2 miles. My hope is that this is not overwhelming to you and that you have fun. There's GRACE my friends, there is grace...enough to go around. If you miss a day and get behind, just keep going. The goal is to worship through this season, not complete a chart.

DAY 6

Today's Advent verse comes from Luke 2:10:

"Then the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people."

Nothing says "all people" like a group of Angels proclaiming the Good News to poor, humble, hard working shepherds. To think God could've sent them anywhere but He sent them to the lowliest. Other works of God were for His glory but THIS moment, the moment of redemption to the world is for His Glory in the highest. It is no surprised that the shepherds hastily made their way to Jesus to worship their newborn King.

15 minute arm burn.
*need weights if you have them, if not, find any weighted item in your house. I have been known to use our bottle of laundry detergent. ;)
Complete this circuit 3x:
15 pushups
20 tricep dips
20 plank rows (10 ex side)
30 bicep curls (15 each side)
30 Overhead Press

As always, feel free to do cardio before or after. :)

DAY 5

I hope you are enjoying your Journey to the Manger so far! Did you have a good rest day yesterday? Let's continue the week and Advent season resting in the Lord. This season can be such a busy time that we often lose sight of what Is really important. I often have to remind my self to stay present over achieving perfection. I want my kids to remember a Mama who is there with them over a frazzled Mama worried about things. That's why we've chosen to celebrate Advent together as a family so that our kids won't just remember Christmas being a different season because it is busy but a different season because we are celebrating the birth of our Savior.

Today's Advent verse comes from Matthew 2:10

"When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceedingly great joy."

What joy the wise men must have felt seeing the star and knowing that the answer to their search was there. Their long journey could finally come to an end. They knew that the birth of Jesus was a pivotal moment in history. It was worthy of God directing these men to find the place his son resided. God is still leading people to His Son, Jesus, today. Our own journeys to Christ should fill us with great joy as He is the redeemer of our soul. Our hearts should be filled with joy and praises as we humbly and thankfully follow Him.  What a joyous moment for all of earth!

In your movement today, I encourage you to SMILE. Be joyful, it isn't torture. ;) You GET to do this. What a blessing!

Your movement inspiration is a 15 minute leg burn.
Complete this circuit 3x:
30 lunges (15 ea side)
20 single dead lefts (10 ea side)
20 squats
30 donkey kicks (15 each side)

15 glute bridges

DAY 4

It is Sunday which means many of us are busy with church and spending time with family so I'm keeping Day 4, short & sweet.

Today's Advent verse comes from Luke 2:13-14

And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying:
“Glory to God in the highest,
And on earth peace, goodwill toward men!”

The angels are declaring praise on the account of the birth of the Messiah. In the moment that Christ was born, God was being glorified in heaven as salvation among men finally came to the earth.

Your movement inspiration for today is to spend time in at least 15 minutes of REST. I know for you mamas this is going to be difficult but find a way to get 15 minutes to spend some time with your creator and declare praises to Him.
Rest days are just as beneficial to your body as moving so be intentional in your rest today.
