Day 5: Journey to the Manger

By 7:52:00 AM

DAY 5

I hope you are enjoying your Journey to the Manger so far! Did you have a good rest day yesterday? Let's continue the week and Advent season resting in the Lord. This season can be such a busy time that we often lose sight of what Is really important. I often have to remind my self to stay present over achieving perfection. I want my kids to remember a Mama who is there with them over a frazzled Mama worried about things. That's why we've chosen to celebrate Advent together as a family so that our kids won't just remember Christmas being a different season because it is busy but a different season because we are celebrating the birth of our Savior.

Today's Advent verse comes from Matthew 2:10

"When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceedingly great joy."

What joy the wise men must have felt seeing the star and knowing that the answer to their search was there. Their long journey could finally come to an end. They knew that the birth of Jesus was a pivotal moment in history. It was worthy of God directing these men to find the place his son resided. God is still leading people to His Son, Jesus, today. Our own journeys to Christ should fill us with great joy as He is the redeemer of our soul. Our hearts should be filled with joy and praises as we humbly and thankfully follow Him.  What a joyous moment for all of earth!

In your movement today, I encourage you to SMILE. Be joyful, it isn't torture. ;) You GET to do this. What a blessing!

Your movement inspiration is a 15 minute leg burn.
Complete this circuit 3x:
30 lunges (15 ea side)
20 single dead lefts (10 ea side)
20 squats
30 donkey kicks (15 each side)

15 glute bridges

Remember: 15 minutes of intentional movement (i.e. walking, running, strength training, dancing, stretching, etc.) counts as 1 mile. If you participate in an hour workout, you would mark off 4 miles. 15 minutes of spending time in the Word (reading, mediating, worshiping) counts as 1 mile. You would need to average about 3.75 "miles" a day to reach 90 by Christmas SO I'm going to add a little something extra... If you complete an act of service or donate to a charity during the Christmas season, you can mark of 2 miles. My hope is that this is not overwhelming to you and that you have fun. There's GRACE my friends, there is grace...enough to go around. If you miss a day and get behind, just keep going. The goal is to worship through this season, not complete a chart.
